Bottled Water: Alternatives

With mineral water as the main source of water consumption leads to all sorts of problems. Primarily the enormous amount of waste associated with bottled water.

Most bottled water containers are not recyclable, so that they in our already overflowing landfills. At the end There they sit sit. Of course they are finally biologically ... It takes only 1,000 years or so!

Not necessarily find all these bottles make their way in the dumps, but at the end of our streets and even wild lands. How many times have you been on a hike and come across a discarded bottle of water? It happens a lot and really detracts from a hike through nature.

Another reason to avoid mineral water, the amount of energy required to produce the individual bottles. The bottles are plastic and plastic by burning our finite supply of fossil fuels produces. This has not only wasting our fossil fuels, but it adds to our pollution problem.

Our environment is sensitive enough without adding this unnecessary burden. Not only the energy for the production of mineral water is used, but think of how much energy is used to transport all this water in our local grocery stores. Hundreds of thousands of gallons of gas vans could not jump back and forth supplies of mineral water are saved by.

So what is the answer? The first and most obvious is, of course, drink water directly from the tap. What could be easier? However, the water from your kitchen faucet is not always taste. It is good for cooking and cleaning dishes, but when it comes to taste, it's just not what it could be.

How about people drinking from the well? Well water can either taste or really terrible. In most cases, it is pretty awful.

A good way to get the taste of water is to improve from your faucet to install or buy a water filter system. There are all kinds of them on the market.

There is everything from water jugs with built-in filter, radiator to water dispensers. Even the most modern refrigerators have water filtration systems standard. These filters can go a long way to improve the taste of your water.

Of course they have the added advantage of filtering a lot of nasty chemicals that you do not want in your body. Most filters can extract 99.9% of unwanted chemicals from tap or well water.

Putting a water cooler dispenser in your home is a good way to go. Of course, you can still drink bottled water, but you're not consume tons of different bottles. You are using the 5 gallon water jugs and again when they are empty with them.

You still need to fill some energy to use the jars, but nothing like the energy spent on individual disposable containers.

The bottom line is, stop the waste of resources and adding pollution to our world. By not buying bottled water, so your a great contribution to the health of our environment....
