For eco-minded families our purchases mean a lot for us. If we toys, food, things for our children, and the essentials for our house we buy trust to create safe products manufacturer. Unfortunately, some toys are not what they seem. Actually contain many materials that can actually harm infants and children! Not long ago, California united with several states to ban BPA from baby and children's products. But what is BPA and why is it forbidden now?
Bisphenol A (BPA) is an ingredient in many hard plastic products, including, but not limited to baby bottles, sippy cups and toys. It is also used as an ingredient in deposits for food packaging, including baby food. BPA is an endocrine disruptor, which has the potential to cause keeps the child's development. BPA has also been linked to autism, breast cancer, obesity, hyperactivity and early puberty.
Currently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency maintains (EPA) that the benefits of plastic packaging products including BPA contains outweigh the health and environmental risks. Both agencies also report, further research is needed to evaluate potential BPA health risks. The EPA at this time continue its invesitagions. However, California law, as some other states, decided to BPA based on the already strong evidence, despite claims by the EPA and DHHS ban.
Research show at this time on a nine-to-one margin in laboratory studies that BPA adverse effects on health (90%) leads to no impact on health (10%) compared to. If adverse effects occur 90 percent of the time, with each component made or well it just can not be measured as secure.
This year, California Governor Jerry Brown signed the Toxin-Free Infants and Toddlers Act (Assembly Bill 1319) into national law in force on 13 July 2013 to go. The intent of the law is to enable children from likely health hazards to defend themselves from BPA contact and consumption. It bans the use of BPA in all manufactured goods in connection with babies and children. The ban on BPA in California and nearly a dozen other states is evidence of a growing gap between federal and state health laws and regulations.
