Solar Energy Kits - Latest news

Recently a small scandal in the White House in relation to a solar energy industry that makes panels. President Barack Obama's support for Solyndra, a solar panel company that went bankrupt this month, has come under heavy control by those who have the potential to doubt use the sun as a business and residential customers energy source.

The White House responded by saying the company fell victim to global economic trends but that federal investment in alternative energy must continue. Personally, I was hoping this would turn into a kind of political football for a few weeks, so that could come in the solar industry forward and educate Americans about the advancements in solar energy kits and the jobs it could bring to our country.

A company known as, SolarWorld, offers products ranging from crystalline silicon ingots, wafers, cells and modules for grid-connected and off-grid power generation. DIY solar energy kits are usually built for off-grid use. The main building blocks of the company are high-performance monocrystalline and polycrystalline. They have been in business for 35 years and did I mention that all these products are made here in America.

But as I said in earlier posts SolarWorld, like other companies that produce solar systems around the world, are facing obstacles in this relatively new industry, to say the least. To the supporters like myself this is a golden opportunity, an industry that really needs to support a boost. Prices on residential solar energy kits are pretty low.

Just recently Rema, a village in Ethiopia, home to the largest solar project. Every house in the village has electricity powered by solar energy kits. 80% of its people live in rural areas, where only 1% of them have access to electricity. These areas are so remote that they. No access to their national electricity grid Village roofs are saturated with small off-grid solar panels that allow them to power a few lamps and can also power radios and other devices. Children in the village are now able to study at night and a local bar has increased its business due to solar power. Hirut Kebede, a 25-year-old bar worker, says the solar energy kits have changed her life. "I did not fight with smoke [from the gas lamps] no more. Before we used gas lamps, we keep bottles cold by putting them in the sand had," she said. "Now we have more customers than before I sell a lot more than before."

There are currently 2,100 residential solar energy systems in the homes there now with more than 300 requests just in that small village alone. This got me to thinking about some uses here in America for solar energy kits that I go over in the next post....
