Advantages of Solar Cooker

In remote areas and some third world countries where people lack access to electricity and fuel is a cheap commodity, solar cookers provide an easy way of food preparation and purification of water. While people in the developed countries exert solar cooking to save money.

Horace de Saussure was the first recorded attempt to solar cooking in 1767. The Swiss researchers have developed a solar cooker on the principle of global warming or solar heat trap by arranging several glass cases into each other on a dark surface. Later, he developed a stove with two pine boxes with three layers of glass on top. Then he added an insulation made of wool in between two pine boxes.

In the 1950s, Mary Telkes of MIT developed the classic solar cookers. It featured a plywood insulated box, four reflectors and a sloping top two layers of glass, which had a small air space between them. This design is still seen in the modern solar cookers in numerous variations.

UN and other organizations planning to introduce solar cooking to impoverished nations, but early plans did not materialize. Today, many non-profit organizations that promote the use of solar cookers to reduce air pollution, prevent deforestation and avoid accidental fires in fire-prone areas.

Preserve forests
In other countries, many people still depend on wood for fuel. Solar cooker uses the sun's energy, which is renewable. This saves trees from deforestation and protect endangered species.

Reduction of greenhouse gases
Although power has certainly made life brighter and less complicated, the excessive and unwise use of IT can contribute to global warming. In addition, smoke and fumes from gas powered stoves contribute to climate change. By using a solar oven, you can reduce carbon footprint and slow down the harmful effects of global warming.

In the summer months you can take the stove out and try different recipes solar to reduce the heat in your home.

Cooking methods, wood and other non-renewable fuels use toxic fumes into the air. This can lead to health complications and the pollution of the air, when these vapors are inhaled. Solar oven, on the other hand, uses solar energy, produce no harmful toxins and can significantly reduce air and water pollution,

Solar cookers are easy to assemble and disassemble. Just take one with you on family picnics, camping trips and vacations. Cooking with solar products is safe, because there is no need for an open fire and put no fire hazard to your children, pets and other people. It also minimizes the risk of forest fires from wood sparks....
